Here is the list of all the events happening around Trans Empowerment Week. You will also see instructions on how to rsvp or links to the event invite. 11/15: Trans 101 workshop for students
1-3pm Room 426 (Advising Room)
This workshop is open to all students of any knowledge level around issues affecting transgender communities, any student in any major could benefit from this workshop. This is a safe space to get your questions answered and your thoughts articulated. We will complete a few exercises to expand our vocabularies and understandings of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Then, we will complete case studies to think through how to competently and effectively interact with transgender people and communities.

11/16: Tours of the new (attempting to be) Trans Friendly Rec Center. 10:30am & 4pm at the Rec Center 1800 SW 6th Avenue
~Learn to use equipment and find the gender neutral showers and changing rooms.

11/17 Trans 101 workshop for faculty

This workshop is open to any staff or faculty of any knowledge level around issues affecting transgender communities. This is a safe space for staff and faculty to get their questions answered. We will complete a few exercises to expand our vocabularies and understandings of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Then, we will complete case studies with a special focus on gender-related issues as they appear in Portland State classrooms and work-spaces .
